Kelly Clarkson is ready to breakaway from any beef rumors.
When the "Since U Been Gone" singer thought a fan was asking about the rumored rivalry between her and fellow singer Carrie Underwood, Kelly was quick to set the record straight.
"People always pit us together," she said while a guest on Watch What Happens Live June 27, "and we don't even know each other well enough to be pitted together."
"Like literally, we've run into each other a handful of times," Kelly continued. "There's no beef between us. There's nothing between us, like, we don't know each other!"
But as it turns out, the WWHL fan was only asking what it was like to have the "Before He Cheats" artist as a guest on The Kelly Clarkson Show. "Look everybody always asks me the pitted against each other question," Kelly explained after taking a joking sip of her drink in embarrassment. "But it was awesome! It was great to have her on the show."
The 41-year-old also expressed her frustration about the fact that she and Carrie are continuously pitted against each other in the media. "I don't know why they do that," she said. "They don't do it with dudes! They only do it with females."
But instead of worrying about fabricated feuds, Kelly is keeping her family in focus—specifically her two kids, River Rose, 9, and Remington Alexander, 7, who she shares with ex-husband Brandon Blackstock.
And as it turns out, they might be following in mom's creative footsteps.
"They both are little entertainers," Kelly told E! News on June 22. "They love pretend. They love make believe and creating worlds."
"They're too young," she continued, speaking to a possible future in entertainment. "But I think the coolest part is having the ability to give your kids the opportunity you didn't have growing up. I think that's the most incredible thing, just show them everything that you think might be helpful and see where they go."
And after finalizing her divorce in March 2022, the "Stronger" singer is happy to forego dating for the time being and keep things as they are.
"I'm just enjoying me and I'm enjoying my children and I'm enjoying my work," she explained. "I love what I'm doing right now. And I am a little hesitant, because stepparent situations aren't always great for everyone, or even having another person involved."
Right now, she's happy basking in the self-love.
"I haven't even thought about it," Kelly added. "Not that I'm against it. I'm not like bitter or, ‘Oh, I'm still broken.' I'm not mad at all. I'm very happy. I'm in a great place. But you know, I've lost a bit of me, like in my previous relationship, and I love having her back."
